Escape @ Great Pond

New to our rental inventory, this rustic 2 bedroom, 1 bath cottage offers so much fun for your family! It is part of the Belgrade Lakes Cottages Association, which consists of six cottages each on their own private property but with a shared lakefront. This cottage is just across the road from the waterfront area with a swim float, boat launch, firepits, docks, clubhouse, gas grill, picnic tables and bathroom. Swim and fish right from the dock and in the evening, sit by the firepit and enjoy the awesome view of Great Pond! Each cottage has its own boat slip, so feel free to bring your boat or jet skis or use one of our kayaks provided. Located off Hwy 27, it's just minutes to the village of Belgrade Lakes.

  This cottage was very clean and well stocked for our family of 4. It is more spacious than it looks inside. We truly appreciates the air conditioning during this very hot summer though the lake was the place to be. Markets are close by too. One recommendation is to have watershoea as shore front is rocky upon entering.

  This was not the first time we had used Belgrade Vacation Rentals and we've been coming to the area for over 25 years but this was our first stay at Escape @ Great Pond. I have to say that it more than met our expectations. It was cozy but had ample space to move about in. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen easy to work, and the other amenities were just as advertised which is to say that the cabin was nicely furnished with all appliances and internet/TV working well. There is a nice little room that I used as an office to work from since I'm in health care and need to have private space to work from with my patients. Boat rentals nearby allow you to explore and fish beautiful Great Pond and the nearby towns especially Belgrade Lakes Village have all you can want for charm, shopping, and services.   We spent two very enjoyable weeks at Escape @ Great Pond escaping the Tennessee heat. Accommodations were neat, clean, tidy and recently renovated. The screened in front porch is awesome: nice breeze & a view of the lake (small one but a view). It would have been nice to know beforehand that the TV offered streaming services only and not regular cable. We also rented a boat but the boat rental company informed us that they were not allowed to use Escape's neighborhood boat launch even though we were renters. The boat rental company is less than a mile from the cabin but I was forced to use the public launch on the other side of the lake (est. 5mi).

    Charles - We apologize for the issues you had while renting Escape at Great Pond and will make sure the listing states streaming only. Regarding the boat rental, the rental company is allowed to launch boats from a dock there. The HOA realizes there was a problem and is correcting it so it doesn't happen in the future.   The camp was well appointed with modern appliances & fixtures. It was very clean and stocked with the basics. The kayaks and A/C were a plus! Plenty of fans were available too. The beds were comfortable.
  
  But, there were no ice trays. The well water sometimes had an odor (iron) and made getting the soap rinsed-off a bit tough.

    Todd - thanks for taking the time to write this review. I asked the owner about the water odor. They told me the association does a water test every year and it was tested in June. The results were good and the water meets EPA standards. Sometimes well water can have an odor and be very soft, which is why it's harder to rinse off the soap.
