  We’ve stayed in many camps/houses in Maine over the last 20 years. We just loved this little camp. It’s a little rustic (meaning you’re going to see a few ants and a some cobwebs/dirt, squeaky door) but that’s a traditional Maine camp and it was perfect for our family of 4. The boat dock was great and spent a lot of time out on the water in our small fishing boat. It was very quiet. From the house you couldn’t see any neighbors. Very private. From the dock you couldn’t see other docks but it was very quiet. Just what we wanted. Angela was great to work with for our very last minute week long getaway. We would rent again.

  Our time was wonderful. This was our second year at the McClure cottage and it was so nice. This year we noticed large ants, and that was not something we had noticed last year. Other than that it was amazing to sit dockside, and listen to the loons! The screen porch is THE BEST!

  I loved this cabin. It was exactly what I needed for the week with my family. Close enough to town and other amenities but peaceful and quiet, as well. The lake water is amazing. Having bottled water was a life saver. One critique- the cleaning crew could have done a little better job cleaning the kitchen (sink drain had food in it, sinks sides has cucumber peels stuck to it, and dishes were dirty) but not a deal breaker. Thank you to the McClure's for sharing their property with us!

  We loved our week’s vacation in McClure Cottage. The screen porch was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the view of the lake. We swam off the dock snd enjoyed our canoe rides on Great Pond.
  The kitchen was well stocked and had all we needed to cook our meals!

  This cozy house has fantastic views of the lake from almost every room. The screened in porch was our favorite spot to sit early morning and late at night and listen to the waves lapping on the shore and the loons calling. The location was private and peaceful, wonderful for a family vacation.

  The cottage sits at the north end of Great Pond, has a beautiful southerly view. Some sun, but no full morning or full afternoon sun. Wonderful screened-in porch for eating, sleeping, and sitting. The three bedrooms are small; beds are adequate. Small galley kitchen clean and well-appointed. Evidence of mice, but all Maine cottages have mice. Nice to have 2 kayaks at our disposal, and the woodstove was great on cold days. Thank you, McClures!

  The McClure cottage is a wonderful hidden gem on Great Pond. The location is secluded with a spacious front yard on a quiet camp road, and with the most phenomenal views across the lake. The Rome Town Beach is right next store which made for a great spot to take our dogs swimming (the water by the cottage is a bit rocky, so tough for dogs that like to wade). The cottage itself was well appointed and offered plenty of space for our family. The screened porch made an excellent spot for meals and a space to relax, and the telescope was a huge hit with us at night as the stars on a clear night are breathtaking from the dock! We experienced a minor issue during our stay that was immediately addressed. Top-notch service from both Barbara at BVR & the McClure’s. We can’t thank you enough for your hospitality!
