Sunset View Cottage

Located on beautiful MESSALONSKEE LAKE (Snow Pond), this cozy 2 bedroom, 1 bath cottage sleeps 9 and is perfect for your family vacation. The main bedroom has 2 twins. Bedroom #2 has a bunk bed with a double and twin and 2 additional twin beds. There is a double sleeper sofa in the living area. There is a fully equipped kitchen with dining area and living area which has a great view of the lake. The cottage is only steps from the water's edge and dock. If you want to explore the lake, there is a canoe for your use. The cottage is 15 minutes from the town of Oakland and the village of Belgrade Lakes.

  Great week away with our family (this year 4 children, 2 adults, 1 dog). The camp was clean and generously stocked with bottled water and propane for the grill). Ample room for dining indoor and out, lounging, sunning and swimming. Perfect location on the lake with deep water dock(we had a jet-ski for the week, but could have easily brought our boat). There was additional room to roam with shared access to the Colby Hume land trust.
  
  Don't know if it is always the case, but we encountered very few horseflies or mosquitoes!
  
  The camp is as good as described--we overlooked the absence of a clothes washer (our fault) but managed just fine--we would bring more towels next time!

The cabin in well-supplied with everything you will need for cooking, there are 2 canoes, and the screened in porch is a truly excellent feature.   Cabin looks to have had some updates that the pictures don't show. There is a flat screen LCD TV and a keurig coffee maker. Roof also has been painted. Also has a nice dock as we brought our boat with us Very happy with our stay here!

  This house is very cozy and a lot of space. The lake is just here and we could swim a lot without driving anywhere. My husband and our friend went on our boat for fishing and enjoyed it. Especially a screened terrace was awesome. Even there was a special fireplace and we could sit there talking and watching sunset. Stores were in Oakland just 10-15 minutes from our house. So that was a great vacation.

  This was a beautiful cabin RIGHT ON the was very well stocked. We have stayed at other cabins and have had to bring just about everything we needed for a week..NOT HERE! It was clean and blankets and pillows were provided. We brought our own, but they were there non the less. We have two Labradors that also enjoyed the week. They provided two canoes, and life jackets. The 'rules' were very clear and doable. We are already looking to book for next summer! We met one of the owners of the cabin..wonderful man. We brought a lot..but Waterville is very close for any thing you need. My entire family wants to THANK the owners for such a wonderful family week!!

  We had a relaxing, great time!! The cottage was clean. The lake was nice. Even my dog did not want to leave when our week vacation was over. We had privacy. There is no one on the right of the cottage. There is a camp on the left side, but at the time we rented it, there was no one there. Overall the camp is in a nice location and it is very relaxing!!!

  This place was great! My wife and I spent 7 days there and are planning to go back next year. It matched what was on the website to a T and it was exactly what we expected. It was very close to town, but far enough to keep that "get away" feel. The house itself was very clean when we arrived and all of the amenities were in working order. We had a boat with us and having the dock so close to the house was a bonus. The fishing was fantastic and my wife actually caught her biggest fresh water fish (a 20 pound pike). We met some really nice locals and every business we went to was really welcoming. We found a nice restaurant just outside of Watertown, The Lobster Trap, that I would recommend to all. Great trip!   Beautiful quiet location and excellent set up with two level deck. Having canoes to use and a gas grill were nice pluses. The décor is a little dated, but the cottage was well equipped and very comfortable. It's only about 10 minutes to Waterville, and you can grab most necessities in nearby Oakland.

  Coming back to Maine for vacation I wanted a place that would give me and my family that rustic Maine atmosphere but with all the amenities you need to keep everyone happy. This place did just that. My local family loved to come and visit and there was plenty of room inside when it was raining and outside. The only suggestion I would have is to put a ladder at the end of the dock.

  The location was perfect for us and overall we enjoyed our stay and would definately recommend it to a friend and stay there again. The only negative thing was that there was no outside light by the back steps leading down to the outside patio which was a little dangerous at night so they might want to consider putting a light on that corner of the camp. But otherwise it was a good camp.
