Wendell Cottage

Wendell Cottage is a very comfortable 4 bedroom, 2 bath cottage located at the end of a private camp road on Salmon Lake. On the main floor is the fully equipped kitchen, living area, laundry and bath. Upstairs are the bedrooms and full bath. Outside you can enjoy all the outdoor amenities and the lake. You can walk right into the sandy bottom lake for a swim or fish from the dock. There is a mooring for your boat. You can cookout on the gas grill provided and in the evening, enjoy the most spectacular views of Salmon Lake. Located close to Augusta and Waterville with easy access to I-95.

  We truly enjoyed our stay at Wendell Cottage! A peaceful and relaxing outdoors and a spacious and beautiful camp/home. We enjoyed the fire pit,the paddle boat and wonderful sunrises! Once when canoeing we were surrounded by 14 loons! On top of being a great place for family of all ages, the couches and recliners are wonderful and the beds completely comfortable. A great place to stay and reconnect with family!

  What a great find. This "Cottage" was well equipped with everything needed for a nice peaceful week on the lakes where I grew up. The open lawn down to the quiet lake was nice. The evening paddle boat rides were also very relaxing. Already looking at next year !

  We had a wonderful week with very little rain and lots of sunshine. The rental property was nicely situated close to the lake with plenty of good shade. The inside was very cozy, clean and inviting. It was stocked with all the essentials you would need. It was perfect for our family and guests. The paddle boat was a huge hit for all and we thoroughly enjoyed sitting by the fire at night.
  
  The water was beautiful and refreshing and we liked the fact that we could walk out to the floating dock and sit in the sun.
  
  The one minor issue I would point out, and I do stress minor, was that the grill was in need of some TLC. We were able to use it but the burners were rusted and in need of replacement.
  
  We are already planning to rent this property for next year and even have family looking to rent the little cabin next to it.
  
  All in all, I would highly recommend this rental to all. It is very close to Oakland and Waterville when a supermarket run is in order.
  
  Thanks for opening up this rental to us! We truly enjoyed ourselves!

  We loved staying here! Lake was peaceful with very few boats. Sandy beach area was perfect for little kids- hard to find on this lake! Rental had paddle boat and various toys which was a nice extra. House was nice and roomy with laundry and wifi. We look forward to staying here again!

  This place was perfect for our little grandbabies, who are 5 and 2 1/2. They were able to swim freely on the sandy beach, play on the very large lawn and enjoy the swing on by the lake. The trees helped with shade on those hot,hot days. The house with 4 bedrooms gave us plenty of room for our family. The area was very clean and enjoyable. Oh, and thanks for the washer and dryer. We were able to keep up with the laundry easily and not leave the beautiful vacation spot.

  Wendell Cottage is located on a beautiful piece of lake front property. Our family enjoyed kayaking amongst the Loons that seem to enjoy our company as much as we did theirs. We rented 2 double kayaks, but the property did supply a paddle boat for us to use. Our dog enjoyed sitting in the boat while I paddle her around the lake.
  One morning I walked down to the lake with our dog to see the Loons, but was surprised by an Eagle that swooped down to catch a fish. My dog and I were mesmerized by the majesty of the bird. We were blessed to see the Eagle a couple more times.
  
  When night fell on the lake well lighted by the moon, we gathered to enjoyed sitting out around a fire enjoying good company and nature.
  
  The house has a large kitchen to gather when not outside enjoying the great outdoors. It is comfortable and welcoming. There are four bedrooms and two bathrooms that accommodated six adults nicely.
  
  Had a wonderful time! Look forward to renting the cottage again, but for longer period of time.

  Wendell's cottage served us well. The downstairs living space is very nice with a large kitchen/dining area and a newer bathroom/laundry room. There are four bedrroms and a bath upstairs. Honestly, while I showered up there for convenience, it really needs to be updated. We were also a bit surprised by the bedroom configuration. The description is accurate as to the numbers and types of beds, but we didn't expect one bedroom with a single twin and then another room with a double bed and a twin. We made it work, but it might not for all renters. We enjoyed the setting very much. There is another cottage on the property owned by the same family I believe, but otherwise you see no other cottages unless you are on the water. I do have to comment on the summer camp nearby. The disruption to our solitude wasn't constant, but there were some days that their competions got quite loud-never in the early morning though which I greatly appreciated as it is such a peaceful spot to have that first cup of coffee and greet the resident loon. Barbara at Belgrade Vacation Rentals was wonderful to deal with and I would not hesitate to rent this property or any other handled by that agency.

  Beautiful location! Right on the water! House was comfortable, had everything we needed and more. Kids enjoyed the games, movies and such. Myself? I enjoyed the wooded swing right on the water. My 70 year old mother enjoyed it more. Had a great walk in the mornings with my dogs down the dirt road. Great for families.

  We were most pleased that the house was on a quiet piece of property far away from the busy road and right on shore of Salmon Lake (not all the rentals are right on the water, so be sure to ask if that's important to you). We enjoyed sitting and watching the loons, eagles, and many other birds, walking in the large field above the house, and enjoying the quiet. It is next to a summer outdoors camp, and might be a little noisy in the summer months (this wouldn't have bothered us much as we enjoy the sound of young people having fun). The house was very clean and well appointed. The only slight improvement for me would be more comfortable beds, but I've gotten a bit fussy as I get older. We didn't swim, but it looked like the lake would be good for swimming and there was clean and easy access right in front of the house. It is about 20 from Colby College, which is the reason we were visiting (daughter's graduation). The location was more convenient for getting back and forth to Colby than some other houses, which were farther away. Barbara was great to work with and kindly accommodated our request to switch houses after our first night in one house on a busy road. We would go back.
